Generally, emo makeup is all about black and dark colors. A black eyeliner is one of the essentials in this kind of makeup. Apply a thick amount of eyeliner on your top and bottom rim of your eyes. For a more dramatic effect, you can extend from the outer corner of your eyes and draw a line curving downwards for creating a gloom look.

The eye shadow can be of light or dark shade. Mostly girls use brown or grey tint. But some even apply vibrant colors to experiment on their looks. Blue, green and red colors have been applied as eye makeup and it turned out to be working for them.
Many favor black as the lip color. You can first use an eyeliner for the edges of your lips and apply a black lipstick for finishing the effect. You can also use a light shade of pink if you want to try something out of the ordinary.
